Effect of methyl parathion on the muscle and brain acetylcholinesterase activity of matrinxã (Brycon cephalus)

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2005
Farming of the freshwater fish is emerging in Brazil and many species from the wild are promising. The teleost matrinxã (Brycon cephalus) holds several characteristics such as fast growth rate, high commercial value and adaptability to artificial raring ...

Biotransformation of Methyl Parathion by Glutathione S-Transferases [PDF]

open access: yesToxicological Sciences, 2004
The organo(thio)phosphate esters are one of the most widely used classes of insecticides. Worldwide, organophosphate insecticides (OPs) result in numerous poisonings each year. In insects, glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) play an important role in OP resistance; limited data suggest that GST-mediated O-dealkylation occurs in humans as well.

Evaluation of phosphate insecticides and common herbicides: monitoring and risk assessment in water treatment plant, distribution networks, and underground water wells

open access: yesJournal of Water and Health
Despite the negative effects that the use of pesticides (such as herbicides and insecticides) have on human health and water resources, a significant portion of the world's agricultural production depends on them.

Comparison between GC-MS-SIM and GC-ECD for the determination of residues of organochlorine and organophosphorus pesticides in Brazilian citrus essential oils. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016

Diazine Endo‐Functionalized Tetraphenylethylene‐Based Cyclo[6]arenes for Molecular Recognition in Both Solution and Aggregate States

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 6, Issue 11, November 2025.
To overcome poor molecular recognition in dilute solutions of tetraphenylethylene‐embedded cyclo[6]arenes, three macrocycles with functionalized cavities featuring diazine groups as endo‐binding sites are synthesized. Their recognition affinity continuously improves with increasing hydrogen‐bond acceptance of diazine groups.

Aqueous synthesis of CdTe quantum dot as biological fluorescent probe for monitoring methyl parathion by fluoro-immunosensor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Bioconjugation of quantum dots (QDs) provide high resolution in biological fluorescent labelling as a result of physical and optical properties of QDs. This intrinsic property of QDs can be made use of for sensitive detection of target analytes including

Novel Cu:ZnS Quantum Dots‐Sodium Alginate Composite Fluorescent Hydrogel for Simultaneous Visual Detection and Efficient Removal of Pb(II)

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 6, Issue 6, Page 2852-2863, November 2025.
Strategy of Cu:ZnS QDs‐SA hydrogel for visual detection and simultaneous removal of Pb(II). ABSTRACT A novel composite fluorescent hydrogel composed of copper‐doped zinc sulfide quantum dots (Cu:ZnS QDs) was embedded in sodium alginate (SA). Fluorescence sensors were constructed on the basis of fluorescent hydrogels for nondestructive visual detection ...

Preparation of Quasi-Three-Dimensional Porous Ag and Ag-NiO Nanofibrous Mats for SERS Application

open access: yesSensors, 2018
In this study, two new quasi-three-dimensional Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) substrates, namely porous Ag and Ag-NiO nanofibrous mats, were prepared using a simple, electrospinning-calcination, two-step synthetic process.
