Metarhizium anisopliae Mitigates the Phytotoxicity of Lead and Nanoplastics on Rice by Modifying Physiological, Transcriptomic, Metabolomic Activities, and Soil Microbiome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 21, 13 April 2026.
Metarhizium anisopliae alleviates the phytotoxic effects of polyethylene nanoplastics (NP) and lead (Pb) in rice by decreasing Pb uptake, restoring antioxidant and hormonal equilibrium, and promoting growth. Additionally, the fungus modifies the rhizosphere microbiota, enhancing both contaminant tolerance and plant growth, thereby effectively ...

Speciation without chromatography: Part I. Determination of tributyltin in aqueous samples by chloride generation, headspace solid-phase microextraction and inductively coupled plasma time of flight mass spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
An analytical procedure was developed for the determination of tributyltin in aqueous samples. The relatively high volatility of the organometal halide species confers suitability for their headspace sampling from the vapour phase above natural waters or

Gaschromatographic determination of methylmercury compounds from samples containing sulfide

open access: yesBUNSEKI KAGAKU, 1970

Can Invasive Suckermouth Catfish, Hypostomus Plecostomus, Be Used as Fishmeal? A Potential Solution to Eradicate it from the Buriganga River, Bangladesh

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.
Can invasive suckermouth catfish, Hypostomus plecostomus, be used as fishmeal? A potential solution to eradicate it from the Buriganga River, Bangladesh ABSTRACT The sustainable replacement of conventional fish meal (CFM) remains a critical challenge for aquaculture, given its rising cost and limited supply.

Upper Ocean Cycling of Iron South of the Polar Front: Biological Patterns and Processes

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Samples from the upper 300 m along the 52°S band, south of the Antarctic Polar Front in the Atlantic sector of the Southern Ocean, including a 3‐week monitoring of a persistent bloom, were analyzed to advance our understanding of iron cycling and supply to recurrent phytoplankton blooms.

Mercury methylation versus demethylation: main processes involved [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
It is well known that mercury presents high toxicity, causing a great damage to the environment and living organisms; however, its properties depend on the mercury species present.

Neurobehavioral deficits at age 7 years associated with prenatal exposure to toxicants from maternal seafood diet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
To determine the possible neurotoxic impact of prenatal exposure to polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), we analyzed banked cord blood from a Faroese birth cohort for PCBs.

On the Tris-methylmercury-oxonium Compounds

open access: yesCroatica Chemica Acta, 1957
The preparation and properties of tris-methylmercury-oxonium fluoborate (CH3Hg)3OBF4 are described. A method for the preparation of methylmercury oxide (CH3Hg)2O by dehydration of methylmercury hydroxide is given. The crystals of tris-methylmercury-oxonium fluoborite have a trigonal symmetry, the hexagonal cell being a = 23.85 A, c = 10.72 A, z = 18 ...

Strengthening community‐based fisheries monitoring programs with Indigenous perspectives

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Community‐based monitoring (CBM) programs are increasingly recognized as essential for adaptive environmental stewardship. Yet, the CBM literature often highlights successful cases and privileges evaluations by external experts over those of community members themselves.

Accumulation of Heavy Metals in Franciscanas from Buenos Aires Province, Argentina [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Marine mammals accumulate heavy metals in their tissues at different concentrations according to trophic levels and environmental conditions. The franciscana (Pontoporia blainvillei) is a small coastal species inhabiting the marine and estuarine areas of
