Experimental fixation of fractures of the femur with methylmethacrylate

The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, 1975
Use of a simple method for injection of cooled methylmethacrylate into the distal part of the femur through the canal of a Küntscher rod to stabilize distal femoral-shaft fractures proved experimentally to greatly increase the torsional stability at the fracture site.

Modelling of batch polymerization of Methylmethacrylate

1994
Many acrylic and vinylic monomers are often polymerized by a free radical chain addition mechanism. This process consists of a three main steps: initiation, propagation and termination. Free radicals are formed by the fragmentation of the initiator, once formed these radicals propagate by reacting with monomers to form long macroradical chains.

Aesthetic Occiput Augmentation Using Methylmethacrylate

Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2015
Cranioplasty for only aesthetic reasons has not been commonly performed to date. However, recently there has been a new focus by the public on a more aesthetically pleasing head shape with frequent patient requests for purely aesthetic contouring of the occiput, an important definer of cosmetic head shape. For example, in Asia, where the normal cranial
