Methylobacterium dankookense sp. nov., isolated from drinking water
A pink-pigmented bacterium, designated SW08-7T was isolated from the drinking water of a water purifier. Cells were Gram-negative, rod-shaped, strictly aerobic, and non-spore-forming. It grew optimally at 25°C, pH 6~7.

Multiple σEcfG and NepR Proteins Are Involved in the General Stress Response in Methylobacterium extorquens. [PDF]
In Alphaproteobacteria, the general stress response (GSR) is controlled by a conserved partner switch composed of the sigma factor σ(EcfG), its anti-sigma factor NepR and the anti-sigma factor antagonist PhyR.

Recurrent desiccation induced niche‐specific microbial ecological memory in the green part of Calohypnum plumiforme, marked by enrichment of plant‐beneficial bacteria, especially Methylobacterium and Sphingomonas, and functional shifts toward symbiosis and stress protection, potentially enhancing host tolerance within a “holobiont ecology memory ...

Microbial Community Dynamics in Marine Water: Influence of Hydrocarbon Type and Exposure Time
ABSTRACT Marine environments are frequently impacted by petroleum‐derived hydrocarbons, which pose ecological risks because of their toxic, mutagenic, and carcinogenic potential. Microorganisms play a crucial role in hydrocarbon degradation, and understanding the influence of time and hydrocarbon type on microbial dynamics helps improve bioremediation ...

Bacteriomes, cryptic forms and evolution of a common wireworm pest species, Hypnoidus bicolor
Wireworms are important agricultural pests, including Hypnoidus bicolor in the Canadian Prairies. Parthenogenetic and sexual populations of H. bicolor appear associated with different molecular clades. Bacterial community composition and structure were influenced by developmental stage, sampling location and host genetics.

Oral Microbiome in Systemic Autoimmune Diseases: A Systematic Review
ABSTRACT Objective The oral cavity represents a key but underexplored interface between host immunity and microbial communities. The aim of this systematic review was to synthesize current literature on oral microbiota alterations in systemic autoimmune diseases.

Zinc Resistance ofMethylobacteriumSpecies† [PDF]
Zinc (Zn)-resistant Methylobacterium strains were isolated from soils collected in Japan. Although the soils used had never been polluted with Zn, Zn-resistant Methylobacterium-like red colonies were detected at 102 to 103 per gram of dry soil. The 16S ribosomal DNA sequence of the representative eleven strains were most similar to Methylobacterium ...

Methylobacterium spp. as an indicator for the presence or absence of Mycobacterium spp.
Objective/Background: A published survey of bacteria in showerhead biofilm samples revealed that Methylobacterium spp. and Mycobacterium spp. seldom coexisted in biofilms. Method: To confirm that information, biofilm samples were collected from household

Methylobacterium genome sequences: a reference blueprint to investigate microbial metabolism of C1 compounds from natural and industrial sources. [PDF]
BACKGROUND:Methylotrophy describes the ability of organisms to grow on reduced organic compounds without carbon-carbon bonds. The genomes of two pink-pigmented facultative methylotrophic bacteria of the Alpha-proteobacterial genus Methylobacterium, the ...

This show the biodegradation of spent lubricating oil by Bacillus sp. and a marine bacterial consortium. The consortium showed higher growth, biosurfactant production and oil removal efficiency than the isolated strain, highlighting its potential for bioremediation ABSTRACT Spent automotive lubricating oil contains complex hydrocarbons and heavy metals,
