We introduce the notion of cotype of a metric space, and prove that for Banach spaces it coincides with the classical notion of Rademacher cotype. This yields a concrete version of Ribe's theorem, settling a long standing open problem in the nonlinear theory of Banach spaces. We apply our results to several problems in metric geometry.

In this paper we present a survey of Fermat metrics and their applications to stationary spacetimes. A Fermat principle for light rays is stated in this class of spacetimes and we present a variational theory for the light rays and a description of the multiple image effect.

Comparison of the Evaluation Metrics for Neural Grammatical Error Correction With Overcorrection
Grammar error correction (GEC) refers to the proper correction of grammatical errors in a given sentence. Important factors to consider in GEC are not only the grammatical correction of the sentence, but also the recognition of a correct sentence in ...

ABSTRACT Background Children with sickle cell disease (SCD) face multiple acute and chronic medical complications that may impact their quality of life as reported by patients themselves. Health‐related social needs (HRSNs), such as food and housing insecurity, are common in people with SCD, but the association between HRSNs and patient‐reported ...

ABSTRACT Cup‐like nuclei are a distinctive morphological feature observed in certain cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). We provide evidence that they characterize DUX4/ERG ALL independently of IKZF1 deletion and reveal marked mitochondrial accumulation in this ALL subset.

Neighbors-Based Graph Construction for Dimensionality Reduction
Dimensionality reduction is a fundamental task in the field of data mining and machine learning. In many scenes, examples in high-dimensional space usually lie on low-dimensional manifolds; thus, learning the low-dimensional embedding is important.
