Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Complete regularity of linear cocycles and the Baire category of the set of Lyapunov-Perron regular points

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
Given a continuous linear cocycle $\mathcal {A}$ over a homeomorphism f of a compact metric space X, we investigate its set $\mathcal {R}$ of Lyapunov-Perron regular points, that is, the collection of trajectories of f that obey the ...

Metric regularity in optimal control

open access: yes
The talk is devoted to certain extensions of the properties of strong metric regularity and sub-regularity of mappings, focusing on mappings associated with optimal control problems.

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Characterization of metric regularity of subdifferentials

open access: yes, 2008
We study regularity properties of the subdifferential of proper lower semicontinuous convex functions in Hilbert spaces. More precisely, we investigate the metric regularity and subregularity, the strong regularity and subregularity of such a ...

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

A new metric to understand the association between heart rate variability and menstrual regularity

open access: yesnpj Digital Medicine
Cardiovascular disease is underdiagnosed and undertreated in women compared to men. Wearable technologies (wearables) help shed light on women’s cardiovascular by collecting continuous cardiovascular data and correlating it with hormonal fluctuations ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Affecting the Properties of Copper–Graphene Electroconductive Composite by Severe Plastic Deformation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Copper‐based composites enhanced with carbon feature convenient mechanical properties and favorable electric conductivity. Processing via deformation and thermomechanical treatments can introduce advantageous microstructures further enhancing their performance. Herein, copper–graphene powder‐based composites are directly consolidated via rotary swaging
