Echeloned Spaces

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
We introduce the notion of echeloned spaces – an order-theoretic abstraction of metric spaces. The first step is to characterize metrizable echeloned spaces. It turns out that morphisms between metrizable echeloned spaces are uniformly continuous or have

sn-metrizable spaces and related matters

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2005
We give a mapping theorem on sn-metrizable spaces, discuss relationships among spaces with point-countable sn-networks, spaces with uniform sn-networks, spaces with locally countable sn-networks, spaces with σ-locally countable sn-networks, and sn ...

On one-point metrizable extensions of locally compact metrizable spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
For a non-compact metrizable space $X$, let ${\mathcal E}(X)$ be the set of all one-point metrizable extensions of $X$, and when $X$ is locally compact, let ${\mathcal E}_K(X)$ denote the set of all locally compact elements of ${\mathcal E}(X)$ and ...

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 5, Page 1151-1298, May 2026.
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

The Bing plane and separately continuous mappings (in Ukrainian) [PDF]

open access: yesМатематичні Студії, 2012
We prove that the Bing plane $mathbb{B}$ is a$sigma$-metrizable but not strongly $sigma$-metrizable. Alsowe show that for $c$-connected topological spaces $X$ and $Y$each separately continuous function $fcolon Ximes Yomathbb{B}$ is constant.

Continuous selections of multivalued mappings

open access: yes, 2014
This survey covers in our opinion the most important results in the theory of continuous selections of multivalued mappings (approximately) from 2002 through 2012.

Quasibounded solutions to the complex Monge–Ampère equation

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract We study the Dirichlet problem for the complex Monge–Ampère operator on B‐regular domains in Cn$\mathbb {C}^n$, allowing boundary data that is singular or unbounded. We extend the concept of pluri‐quasibounded functions on the domain to functions on the boundary, defined by the existence of plurisuperharmonic majorants that dominate their ...

Free Subspaces of Free Locally Convex Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2018
If X and Y are Tychonoff spaces, let L(X) and L(Y) be the free locally convex space over X and Y, respectively. For general X and Y, the question of whether L(X) can be embedded as a topological vector subspace of L(Y) is difficult.

Weakly metrizable pseudocompact groups

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2006
We study various weaker versions of metrizability for pseudocompact abelian groups G: singularity (G possesses a compact metrizable subgroup of the form mG, m > 0), almost connectedness (G is metrizable modulo the connected component) and various ...

On the structure of finite level and \omega-decomposable Borel functions

open access: yes, 2013
We give a full description of the structure under inclusion of all finite level Borel classes of functions, and provide an elementary proof of the well-known fact that not every Borel function can be written as a countable union of \Sigma^0_\alpha ...
