Metrization of Fpp-spaces

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 1983
AbstractA Hausdorff space each subspace of which is a paracompact p-space is an Fpp-space. A space X is a closed hereditary Baire space if each closed subspace of X is a Baire space. Using a delicate theorem of Z. Balogh it is shown that a first-countable Fpp-space that is a closed hereditary Baire space is metrizable.

Covering properties for LQ𝒰s with nested bases

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
This paper deals with problems on LQ𝒰 spaces which have a nested base; among others we give conditions so that a space (X,τ1,τ2) admits an LQ𝒰𝒰 which generates τ1 and 𝒰−1τ2, and give necessary and sufficient conditions for a space to be quasi-metrizable,

Metrization of idempotent semiring of topological rings

open access: yesApplied General Topology
In this paper, we have introduced natural H+ - pseudovaluation and  H+ -norm on a completely regular semiring making it a topological completely regular (algebraic) semiring and established some necessary and sufficient conditions of metrizability of a ...

Some Topological Properties of CbX

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2014
If X is a completely regular space, first we characterize those spaces CbX whose compact sets are metrizable. Then we use this result to provide a general condition for X to ensure the metrizability of compact sets in CbX.

Cohomological Dimension and Metrizable Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1993
Since the days of M. F. Bockstein's classical paper one tries to establish for a given abelian group \(G\) a so-called Bockstein basis \(\sigma(G)\) consisting of groups of the form \(\mathbb{Q},\mathbb{Z}_ p,\mathbb{Z}/p,\mathbb{Z}/p^ \infty\). Having the property that \(\dim_ GX\) is determined by \(\dim_ H\) for \(H\in\sigma(G)\).

Diagonals of separately continuous maps with values in box products

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2018
We prove that if X is a paracompact connected space and Z = ∏s∈S Zs is a product of a family of equiconnected metrizable spaces endowed with the box topology, then for every Baire-one map g : X → Z there exists a separately continuous map f : X2 → Z such
