Components of the Communication System for Metro Trains Control
2020 12th Electrical Engineering Faculty Conference (BulEF), 2020In this paper presents the components of the train on-board equipment and the corresponding wayside equipment when Communications Based Train Control CBTC is used. The principle of operation of the communication system is mainly considered. Possible standards and criteria for selection of the radio communication system to be used are specified.

Fatigue Reliability Assessment of a Metro-Train Bolster
International Journal of Reliability, Quality and Safety Engineering, 2019The bolster is a key structure for the metro train. To evaluate its fatigue reliability under the fatigue loading scheme, the full-scale fatigue test and theoretical calculation are performed. The bolster is modeled as a series system of stress concentration zones, namely weak points, and their stresses are calculated using validated finite element ...

Narrowband Characterization of a Train-to-Train Wireless Link at 2.6 GHz in Metro Environments
2018A Train-to-Train (T2T) wireless link at 2.6 GHz is characterized for three different metro environments: tunnel, station and open-field. A narrow- band measurement system is used, and obtained attenuation results are analyzed and modeled. The analysis indicates that reflections coming from the environment allow the RF signal to reach higher distances ...

Characterization of Train Fleet Wheel Condition in a Metro
2018The wheel condition of a metro fleet (>100 trains) is characterized based on train passby noise and wheel maintenance records over a four-year period. The initial objective was to identify wheel flats from noise measurements. The base unit of measurement is the maximum value of LAeq,1s from individual train passbys.
