Analysis of Construction Settlement of Shield Tunnel Crossing Metro Operating Tunnel
Abstract Based on the background of the Suzhou Metro Line 3 crossing the Line 1 operating tunnel, the finite element software MIDAS/GTS was used to perform 3D model and simulate the construction of the shield tunnel. The influence of shield tunnel penetration before and after strengthening on operating tunnels is studied.

Pumping properties of the hybrid single-electron transistor in dissipative environment [PDF]
Pumping characteristics were studied of the hybrid normal-metal/superconductor single-electron transistor embedded in a high-ohmic environment. Two 3 micrometer-long microstrip resistors of CrOx with a sum resistance R=80kOhm were placed adjacent to this

The Economic Argument for Cleaning Up the Chesapeake Bay and its Rivers [PDF]
Failure to "Save the Bay" threatens the Bay's value as an economic driver. Conversely, investing in clean-water technology creates jobs, generates economic activity, and saves money in the long run. Hence, the protection and restoration of the Chesapeake

Data‐driven analysis of the spatial dependence of grouting efficiency during tunnel excavation
Prediction of grouting efficiency using machine learning is enhanced by adopting a training strategy that accounts for the grouting process across multiple rounds. Abstract Grouting with water–cement mixtures is the most widely used and cost‐effective method for managing excess water inflow during tunnel construction.

Rockburst prediction based on data preprocessing and hyperband‐RNN‐DNN
A data preprocessing workflow is proposed to address challenges in rockburst data analysis. Coupled algorithms preprocess the data set, and hyperband optimization is used to enhance RNN performance. Results show that preprocessing improves accuracy, while dense layers enhance model stability and prediction performance.
