Coexistence of weak and strong coupling in a photonic molecule through dissipative coupling to a quantum dot

Abstract We study the emission from a molecular photonic cavity formed by two proximal photonic crystal defect cavities containing a small number (<3) of In(Ga)As quantum dots. Under strong excitation, we observe photoluminescence from the bonding and antibonding modes in agreement with ab initio numerical simulations.

Modeling Techniques for Light Distribution of White LEDs

This study presents a method to approximate the light distribution (directivity) of light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) based on a Gaussian distribution and an estimation technique for the total luminous flux of white LEDs. The light distribution, characterized by the half‐power angle, is approximated using a Gaussian distribution with a similar shape.
