Self‐Warning and Self‐Repairing Mechanisms in Functional Coatings: A Review

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
In this paper, we summarize the research progress of self‐warning and self‐repairing coatings in the field of metal corrosion protection as much as possible from the perspective of functional material selection. Meanwhile, the current progress of substituting dual‐functional coatings for single‐functional coatings is also highlighted. ABSTRACT Coatings

UV spectrophotometry of the Metronidazole

open access: yesZaporožskij Medicinskij Žurnal, 2013
Objective. The purpose of this research was to study the UV spectrum of Metronidazole in different polarity solvents (water, 95 % ethanol, 0,1 M sodium hydroxide, 0,1 M hydrochloric acid and 5 M sulfuric acid solution), to establish the relationship ...

Metronidazole and acne

open access: yesActa Dermato-Venereologica, 1976
The strong activity of metroindazole against obligate anaerobes suggested that the organism Proprionobacterium acnes and the disease acne vulgaris might respond to treatment with this drug. Thirty-three clinical isolated of P. acnes were tested and found to be highly resistant to metronidazole. Prospects for its successful use in acne are remote.

A highly sensitive metronidazole sensor based on a Pt nanospheres/polyfurfural film modified electrode

open access: yes, 2017
In this contribution, we combine the advantages of both Pt nanospheres and polyfurfural film and successfully develop a novel Pt nanospheres/polyfurfural film modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for electrochemical sensing of a nitro group containing ...

Metronidazole-Induced Cerebellar Toxicity

open access: yesNeurology International, 2016
Metronidazole is a very common antibacterial and antiprotozoal with wide usage across the globe, including the least developed countries. It is generally well-tolerated with a low incidence of serious side-effects.

The Tubo‐ovarian abscess study (TOAST): A single‐center retrospective review of predictors of failed medical management

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Tubo‐ovarian abscesses (TOAs) cause significant morbidity. Surgical intervention is required if broad‐spectrum intravenous antibiotics are unsuccessful. This study aimed to describe admission characteristics that predict failed medical management and to evaluate a previously developed risk score for predicting the need for surgical ...

Subinhibitory concentrations of metronidazole increase biofilm formation in Clostridium difficile strains.

open access: yesPathogens and Disease, 2016
Resistance mechanism to metronidazole is still poorly understood, even if the number of reports on Clostridium difficile strains with reduced susceptibility to this antibiotic is increasing. In this study, we investigated the ability of the C.

Microbiota humanization drives human‐like metabolic and immune transcriptomic shifts in pigs

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
This study successfully established gut microbiota‐humanized pigs, achieved human‐like remodeling of the serum metabolome, and uncovered transcriptional alterations in immune cell subsets. These findings advance our understanding of how human gastrointestinal microorganisms affect host metabolism and the immune function in a porcine model.

Preparation and Cyclodextrin Solubilization of the Antibacterial Agent Benzoyl Metronidazole

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2013
A one-pot method for the preparation of benzoyl metronidazole was achieved by using N,N′-carbonyldiimidazole as a coupling reagent. Moreover, it was found that the byproduct imidazole as the catalyst promoted the reaction. In addition, the β-cyclodextrin
