One‐Pot Incorporation of Quantum Defects into Single‐Walled Carbon Nanotubes with Arylazo Sulfonates [PDF]
We present a photochemical strategy to create complex aromatic quantum defects in carbon nanotubes using arylazo sulfonates. It provides access to brighter carbon nanotubes without purification and simpler biofunctionalization. Abstract Single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) consist of a carbon monolayer and fluoresce in the near‐infrared (NIR, 800 ...

Emergent Chaos‐Like Dynamics of Spin–Orbit‐Torque‐Driven Magnetic Transitions [PDF]
By combining anisotropy‐engineered nanometer‐scale nucleation sites with time‐resolved x‐ray holography and micromagnetic modeling, magnetization dynamics are directly imaged, revealing chaos‐like fluctuations and skyrmion shedding and highlighting the intrinsic complexity of spin‐orbit torque driven systems.

Cognitive safety under epicranial cortex stimulation of the epileptic focus [PDF]
Abstract Epicranial focal cortex stimulation (FCS) is a new CE‐certified treatment for pharmacoresistant focal epilepsy. In a multicenter observational trial, we report cognitive tolerability in 11 patients with pharmacoresistant epilepsy undergoing epicranial focal cortex stimulation (eFCS) over the predominant seizure focus (left temporal (N = 4 ...

Distance‐Dependent Energy Transfer Between Organic Fluorophores and Single‐Walled Carbon Nanotubes [PDF]
We demonstrate that the dsDNA part adopts a perpendicular orientation to the SWCNT and present a distance‐dependent energy transfer of single fluorescent dyes to SWCNTs. Carbon nanotube energy transfer (CNET) obeys a d−5 distance dependence with a characteristic distance of 7.4 nm (± 0.7 nm) for 50 % energy transfer.

Assessment of Anxiety in Patients With Epilepsy: A Literature Review [PDF]
ObjectiveApproximately 20% of people with epilepsy (PWE) suffer from anxiety. These fears are quite diverse and may manifest periictally or interictally, be part of the seizure's semiology, or an expression of reactive psychological distress from ...

High‐Speed Hyperspectral Imaging for Near Infrared Fluorescence and Environmental Monitoring [PDF]
This study introduces a fast hyperspectral imaging method in the near‐infrared range (HyperNIR). Combining tunable polarization optics with a phasor‐based approach, HyperNIR captures detailed spectral information with just three images. The applicability is showcased by distinguishing NIR fluorophores that are separated by 5 nm.

Steam Reforming of Ethanol to Acetaldehyde and Acetone Over Al‐Doped ZnO Catalysts [PDF]
The steam reforming of ethanol over ZnO was found to consist of the dehydrogenation to acetaldehyde followed by its conversion to acetic acid forming acetone, CO2 and H2 via decarboxylative ketonization. The selectivity to acetaldehyde of this structure‐sensitive consecutive reaction network was enhanced by Al doping of ZnO, which modified the acid ...

Recreational Noise Exposure and Hearing Protection Practices Among Syrian Students in Damascus University: A Cross‐Sectional Study [PDF]
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Hearing loss is a global public health concern, with the World Health Organization projecting nearly 2.5 billion affected individuals by 2050. Work‐related and recreational noise contribute significantly to hearing impairment, yet there is limited research on this issue in Syria.

Exploring Linalool‐Based Phytotherapy for Excitatory/Inhibitory Imbalance in Alzheimer's Disease: A Review of Lavender and Cannabis Therapeutic Effects on Sleep, Seizures, and Cognition [PDF]
Schematic overview of the proposed neuromodulatory actions of linalool in Alzheimer's disease. Through multi‐target effects on oxidative stress, amyloid aggregation, GABAergic and glutamatergic signaling, linalool may restore excitatory/inhibitory balance.
