Comparative Parasitology, 2002
Trematode larvae of the family Accacoeliidae were obtained from Flaccisagitta enflata collected in the Mexican Caribbean Sea during February, March, May, and August 1991. Two parasites were found in the coeloms of 2 chaetognaths of 14,583 examined (prevalence = 0.014%; intensity = 1).

Hydrobiologia, 1993
From plankton samples taken at a Caribbean reef lagoon off the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, an undescribed species of a monstrilloid copepod belonging to the genus Monstrilla was collected. The new species is distinguished from the other species of the genus by the structure and proportional length of the antennulae, by the particular ...

Marine Pollution Bulletin
Due to the amply exposure of marine turtles to marine plastic pollution, this is a reason that the green sea turtle Chelonia mydas makes a good candidate species as a bioindicator for plastic pollution. Turtle feces were collected at Isla Blanca on the northeast Caribbean coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.

Peptides, 2009
A novel peptide, de7b, was isolated from the venom of Conus delessertii, a worm-hunting species collected in the Caribbean Sea off the Yucatan Peninsula. Its primary structure was determined by automated Edman degradation and confirmed by mass spectrometry: it contains 28 amino acids, including six Cys residues.

Journal of Crustacean Biology
Abstract Among crustaceans, decapods have been recorded as the taxon with the highest number of recognized alien species, all of which can alter the habitat and ecosystem function, impacting the abundance, distribution, and behavior of native species.
