Two New Monstrilloids (Copepoda: Monstrilloida) from the Coastal Area of the Mexican Caribbean Sea

Journal of Crustacean Biology, 1993
ABSTRACT From plankton samples taken in coastal areas of the eastern Yucatan Peninsula, Mexican Caribbean Sea, two new species of Monstrilloida (Copepoda) are described, Monstrilla rebs and Monstrillopsis ciqroi. Monstrilla rebis is distinguished as a new species mainly by the location of the oral papilla and the presence of two setae on both rami of ...

Population discrimination of the French grunt, Haemulon flavolineatum (Desmarest, 1823) between the Campeche Bank and the Mexican Caribbean Sea, inferred by microsatellite loci

Regional Studies in Marine Science, 2021
Abstract Genetic structure of the French grunt Haemulon flavolineatum, population was determined in four localities, two located in the Campeche Bank (Cayo Arcas and Alacranes) and two in the Mexican Caribbean (Puerto Morelos and Banco Chinchorro) using microsatellite loci. Intra- and inter-population genetic variabilities, and genetic distances were

A new species of Monstrilla (Copepoda: Monstrilloida) from a reef lagoon off the Mexican coast of the Caribbean Sea

Hydrobiologia, 1993
From plankton samples taken at a Caribbean reef lagoon off the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, an undescribed species of a monstrilloid copepod belonging to the genus Monstrilla was collected. The new species is distinguished from the other species of the genus by the structure and proportional length of the antennulae, by the particular ...

Structural characterization of five post-translationally modified isomorphs of a novel putative δ-conotoxin from the vermivorous snail Conus delessertii from the Mexican Caribbean Sea

Peptides, 2009
A novel peptide, de7b, was isolated from the venom of Conus delessertii, a worm-hunting species collected in the Caribbean Sea off the Yucatan Peninsula. Its primary structure was determined by automated Edman degradation and confirmed by mass spectrometry: it contains 28 amino acids, including six Cys residues.
