Revisiting Clonal Evolution Through the Light of Retrotransposons

open access: yesBioEssays, EarlyView.
We propose integrating retrotransposons into the clonal evolution model of cancer. Retrotransposons can modulate cancer cell fitness, potentially influencing clonal dynamics. They might also induce lineage violations via cell fusion or horizontal transfer.

Production of recombinant methionine‐containing elastin‐like polypeptides in a fermenter using ECPM1 medium

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
Abstract Elastin‐like polypeptides (ELPs) are recombinant protein‐like polymers whose macromolecular structure can be precisely controlled through genetic manipulation of their sequence and length. Their lower critical solution temperature (LCST) phase behavior facilitates purification via chromatography‐free techniques and can be explored for self ...

Harnessing chimeric antigen receptor macrophages against solid tumors

open access: yesCancer Communications, EarlyView.
Abstract Macrophages are prevalent in multiple tumors and exhibit diverse and potent functional activities. Therapeutic reprogramming of macrophage phenotypes represents a promising strategy for cancer immunotherapy. Engineering chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) to endow macrophages with anti‐tumor capacities demonstrated encouraging efficacy ...

Lactylation in cancer biology: Unlocking new avenues for research and therapy

open access: yesCancer Communications, EarlyView.
Abstract Lactylation, a newly identified post‐translational modification, plays a multifaceted role in cancer biology by integrating epigenetic and non‐epigenetic mechanisms. This review summarizes the latest research progress on lactylation, including its functions in epigenetic regulation and its broader impact on cellular processes.
