NORSE secondary to anti‐GAD65 antibody‐positive encephalitis treated with novel adjunctive rapid titration VNS protocol

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract New Onset Refractory Status Epilepticus (NORSE) is a rare and severe condition characterized by refractory seizures in individuals without a prior history of epilepsy. This case report describes a 37‐year‐old woman diagnosed with anti‐glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (anti‐GAD65) antibody‐positive encephalitis‐related NORSE.

Numerical Simulations of Incompressible MHD Turbulence [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Korean Ast. Soc., 34, S275 (2001), 2001
The study of incompressible magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence gives useful insights on many astrophysical problems. We describe a pseudo-spectral MHD code suitable for the study of incompressible turbulence. We review our recent works on direct three-dimensional numerical simulations for MHD turbulence in a periodic box.

Compressible MHD in Spherical Geometry [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1991
AbstractThe generation of magnetic field by a conducting, compressible fluid inside a spherical shell is studied by direct numerical simulations. A pseudo-spectral method is used in order to resolve accurately all the scales present in the problem. The range of parameters considered is the following: a unit Prandtl number, Rayleigh numbers up to 100 ...

Solar Energy Storage Optimization Using Fractional Derivative Simulations of Maxwell Hybrid Nanofluid Flow: Entropy Generation Analysis

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This attempt examines the heat transfer enhancement from unsteady bioconvective Maxwell nanofluid flow under the incidence of solar radiation influenced by viscous dissipation and chemical reaction through a porous medium. The nanofluid contains silver and titanium alloy hybrid nanoparticles with gyrotactic micro‐organisms in ethylene glycol ...

Hall Effect on MHD Transient Flow Past an Impulsively Started Infinite Horizontal Porous Plate in a Rotating System

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2018
In this paper, the effect of Hall current on an unsteady MHD transient three dimensional flow of an electrically conducting viscous incompressible fluid past an impulsively started infinite horizontal porous plate relative to a rotating system has been ...

The Effect of MHD on Free Convection with Periodic Temperature and Concentration in the Presence of Thermal Radiation and Chemical Reaction

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2017
This paper studies the effect of magneto hydrodynamics on unsteady free convection between a pair of infinite vertical Couette plates. The temperature of the plates and concentration between the plates vary with time.

Interaction Between Coronal Mass Ejection "CMEs" and Jupiter Magnetosphere by Numerical Simulation Using MHD Models [PDF]

open access: yesKirkuk Journal of Science, 2017
The present study deals with the interaction between the magnetic field of Jupiter and ones of the Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) for three years (2011-2013) which includes the peak of Solar cycle 24.

On Axially Symmetric Incompressible Magnetohydrodynamics in Three Dimensions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
The global regularity for the incompressible magnetohydrodynamic equations (MHD) in three dimensions is a long standing open problem of fluid dynamics and PDE theory. The Navier-Stokes equations can be viewed as a special case of MHD with a constant magnetic field, whose global regularity problem is known as a Clay Millennium Prize Problem.
