Three-Dimensional MHD Flow of Casson Fluid in Porous Medium with Heat Generation

open access: yes, 2016
The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) three-dimensional boundary layer flow of an incompressible Casson fluid in a porous medium is investigated. Heat transfer characteristics are analyzed in the presence of heat generation/absorption.

Wavelet transforms and their applications to MHD and plasma turbulence: a review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Wavelet analysis and compression tools are reviewed and different applications to study MHD and plasma turbulence are presented. We introduce the continuous and the orthogonal wavelet transform and detail several statistical diagnostics based on the ...

Diethylene Glycol Diethyl Ether as Electrolyte Solvent for Reversible Electrochemical Magnesium Plating

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
Diethylene glycol diethyl ether (DEGDEE) is studied as solvent for Mg electrolytes. The combination with commonly used Mg salts leads to electrolytes which enable reversible electrochemical Mg plating, demonstrating their potential to improve the safety aspect in rechargeable magnesium batteries.

Magnetohydrodynamic equations (MHD) generation code [PDF]

open access: yesRevista de Matemática: Teoría y Aplicaciones, 2017
A program to generate codes in Fortran and C of the full magnetohydrodynamic equations is shown. The program uses the free computer algebra system software REDUCE. This software has a package called EXCALC, which is an exterior calculus program. The advantage of this program is that it can be modified to include another complex metric or spacetime. The

Influence of Low Magnetic Fields on Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Performance of NiCoP Electrocatalysts

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
Herein, electrocatalytic activity enhancement is reported of NiCoP nanorods by applying an external magnetic field. The NiCoP nanorods exhibit an overpotential of 100 mV at 10 mA cm−2 without magnetic field. However, under low magnetic field of 2000 G, the overpotential reduces to 62 mV at 10 mA cm−2 in 0.5 M H2SO4, demonstrating that external magnetic

Structures in a class of magnetized scale-free discs

open access: yes, 2004
We construct analytically stationary global configurations for both aligned and logarithmic spiral coplanar magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) perturbations in an axisymmetric background MHD disc with a power-law surface mass density $\Sigma_0\propto r^{-\alpha}$,

Influence of Magnetic Helicity in MHD [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2010
AbstractObservations have shown that the Sun's magnetic field has helical structures. The helicity content in magnetic field configurations is a crucial constraint on the dynamical evolution of the system. Since helicity is connected with the number of links we investigate configurations with interlocked magnetic flux rings and one with unlinked rings.

Waxy‐ or Putty‐Like Materials as a Novel Drug Preparation for Synthetic Cannabinoid Receptor Agonists: Detection in Prisons and In Vitro Cannabinoid Receptor Activity

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
Waxy‐ or putty‐like materials has emerged as a novel drug preparation for synthetic cannabinoids and other drugs in UK prisons. An in vitro CB1 bioassay was used to evaluate the CB1 activating potential of MDMB‐INACA and extracts from eight seized samples. MDMB‐INACA had moderate efficacy but low potency at CB1.

Dataset of human skin and fingernails images for non-invasive haemoglobin level assessment

open access: yesScientific Data
Anaemia, a decrease in total concentration of haemoglobin (Hb) in blood, affects substantial percentage of the population worldwide. Currently, the gold standard for determining the Hb level is the invasive analysis of venous blood.
