MIBG negative pheochromocytoma.

The Journal of the Association of Physicians of India, 2010
We present a case of a left sided pheochromocytoma, who had normal levels of 24 urinary vanilylmandelic acid and a normal MIBG scan. The diagnosis was confirmed on histopathology of the adrenal gland.

Adverse allergic reaction to 131I MIBG

Annals of Nuclear Medicine, 2009
No adverse allergic reactions to iodine-131-metaiodobenzylguanidine ((131)I MIBG) at a diagnostic dose have been reported in the English literature. This report of a skin eruption in a 35-year-old man after an intravenous injection of (131)I MIBG strongly suggests an adverse allergic reaction, and is the first to address such a side effect of (131)I ...

Cardiac Applications of 123I-mIBG Imaging

Seminars in Nuclear Medicine, 2011
Cardiac autonomic innervation plays a key role in maintaining hemodynamic and electrophysiologic harmony. Cardiac sympathetic function is adversely altered in many disease states, such as congestive heart failure, myocardial ischemia, and diabetes. (123)I-mIBG, a sympathetic neurotransmitter radionuclide analog, aids in the detection of sympathetic ...

Neuroblastoma: MIBG Imaging and New Tracers

Seminars in Nuclear Medicine, 2017
Neuroblastoma is an embryonic tumor of the peripheral sympathetic nervous system, and is metastatic or otherwise high risk for relapse in nearly 50% of cases, with a long-term survival of

MIBG in neuroblastoma diagnosis and treatment

Seminars in Pediatric Surgery, 2019
Neuroblastoma is a heterogenous disease, with solid tumors arising in the adrenal gland or paraspinal regions in young children. Neuroblastoma is unique, with varied presentation and prognosis based on primary location and tumor stage. Tumor behavior and response to treatment ranges from spontaneous regression to disseminated, lethal disease depending ...

Doughnut Appearance on I-131 MIBG Scintigraphy

Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 1996
The uptake of 1-131 MIBG In neuroblastoma is well-established In imaging studies. 1-131 MIBG scintigraphy of a patient with neuroblastoma Illustrated doughnut appearance, which is a well-recognized bone scan finding mostly In giant-cell tumor of bone.

Intraoperative Detection of Ganglioneuromas With 123I-MIBG

Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 2012
Radioactive MIBG can be used in radioguided surgery for neuroendocrine tumors. We report the case of a man with a mutation in the succinate dehydrogenase subunit B (SDHB) gene, in which an abdominal MRI scan identified two 5-mm left para-aortic nodules, suspect for paragangliomas. Subsequent SPECT revealed increased uptake of tracer.

[131I-MIBG-meta-iodobencylguanidine (131I-MIBG) in the study of neuroblastoma].

Anales espanoles de pediatria, 1987
Ten patients with neuroblastoma were scintigraphed with I131-meta-iodobenzylguanidine (MIBG). Lugol solution was previously administered orally to all patients in order to avoid uptake of radioactive iodide by the thyroid gland. The compound was injected intravenously, 0.5 mCi/1.73 m2 of body surface.
