Simulation With MIC-SIM And MIC-SIM View [PDF]

open access: gold1989 Winter Simulation Conference Proceedings, 1989
MIC-SIM is a general-purpose, discrete-event simulation system for use on IBM compatible microcomputers. It was developed as part of a doctoral dissertation in 1980 using Radio Shack computers. Microcomputers were new then and the only simulation languages available require either a mainframe or mini-computer.

MIC: Masked Image Consistency for Context-Enhanced Domain Adaptation [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2022
In unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA), a model trained on source data (e.g. synthetic) is adapted to target data (e.g. real-world) without access to target annotation.

Flares, Rotation, and Planets of the AU Mic System from TESS Observations [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomical Journal, 2021
AU Mic is a young (∼24 Myr), pre-main-sequence M dwarf star that was observed in the first month of science observations of the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and reobserved 2 years later.

A planet within the debris disk around the pre-main sequence star AU Mic [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 2020
AU Microscopii (AU Mic) is the second closest pre-main-sequence star, at a distance of 9.79 parsecs and with an age of 22 million years 1 . AU Mic possesses a relatively rare 2 and spatially resolved 3 edge-on debris disk extending from about 35 to 210 ...

Minimal important change (MIC): a conceptual clarification and systematic review of MIC estimates of PROMIS measures

open access: yesQuality of Life Research, 2021
We define the minimal important change (MIC) as a threshold for a minimal within-person change over time above which patients perceive themselves importantly changed.

Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) for Twelve Antimicrobials (Biocides and Antibiotics) in Eight Strains of Listeria monocytogenes

open access: yesBiology, 2021
Simple Summary Listeria monocytogenes is the bacterium responsible for the majority of cases of human listeriosis, a foodborne infection that, in certain groups in the population (children, elderly, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals ...

Liquid-infiltrated photonic crystals: Ohmic dissipation and broadening of modes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, 2006
The pronounced light–matter interactions in photonic crystals make them interesting as opto–fludic “building blocks” for lab–on–a–chip applications.

New constraints on the planetary system around the young active star AU Mic [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2020
AU Microscopii (AU Mic) is a young, active star whose transiting planet was recently detected. Here, we report our analysis of its TESS light curve, where we modeled the BY Draconis type quasi-periodic rotational modulation by starspots simultaneously to

Limitations of Antibiotic MIC-Based PK-PD Metrics: Looking Back to Move Forward

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2021
Within a few years after the first successful clinical use of penicillin, investigations were conducted in animal infection models to explore a range of factors that were considered likely to influence the antibacterial response to the drug.
