First homoleptic MIC and heteroleptic NHC-MIC coordination cages from 1,3,5-triphenylbenzene-bridged tris-MIC and tris-NHC ligands.

open access: yesChemical Communications, 2015
The preparation of a triphenylbenzene-bridged tris-(1,2,3-triazolium) salt allowed us to obtain the first homoleptic tris-MIC cylinder-like cages of Ag and Au.

Microglial Fkbp5 Impairs Post‐Stroke Vascular Integrity and Regeneration by Promoting Yap1‐Mediated Glycolysis and Oxidative Phosphorylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).

Pharmacodynamic profiling of optimal sulbactam regimens against carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii for critically ill patients

open access: yesAsian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine, 2018
Objective: To study the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of sulbactam against carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CR-AB) and to determine the dosage regimens reaching target time of free drug concentration remaining above the MIC (fT>MIC).

MICA: A fast short-read aligner that takes full advantage of Many Integrated Core Architecture (MIC)

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2015
Short-read aligners have recently gained a lot of speed by exploiting the massive parallelism of GPU. An uprising alterative to GPU is Intel MIC; supercomputers like Tianhe-2, currently top of TOP500, is built with 48,000 MIC boards to offer ~55 PFLOPS ...

Dipiperazine‐Phenyl Derivatives Based on Convergent Molecular Platforms Can Reverse Multidrug Resistance in Gram‐Negative Bacteria by Inhibiting Efflux and Permeabilizing Cell Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating a convergent molecular platform strategy, this study designed a novel dual‐target C5 to combat multidrug‐resistant Gram‐negative bacteria. C5 synergistically enhances antibiotic efficacy by inhibiting efflux pumps and increasing bacterial membrane permeability.

The Gut Microbiota Regulates Motor Deficits via Butyrate in a Gnal+/− Mouse Model of DYT25 Dystonia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The present study provides compelling evidence for a modulatory role of the gut microbiota in the pathology of DYT25 dystonia, and butyrate supplementation alleviates the motor deficits of dystonia in Gnal+/− mice. Abstract Dystonia is the third most common movement disorder, following essential tremor and Parkinson's disease. The underlying mechanisms

A Closed‐Loop Hybrid Discovery System of Type I Photosensitizers for Hypoxic Tumor Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The work developed a closed‐loop hybrid discovery system to rationally design and predict high‐performance Type I PSs for hypoxic tumor therapy. 664 Potential candidates are identified from a dataset through a support vector machine (SVM) classification model, and two candidates are experimentally verified as Type I PSs, which highlighted the potential

An Engineered Solidified Peptide Hemocyte Sponge as Nanomotor Storage to Combat Bacterial Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peptides immobilized via nickel coordination can stabilize the framework structure. Following coating with red blood cell membranes, these constructs are capable of continuously sequestering endotoxins and mitigating colonic pathogenic damage by alleviating bacterial‐induced ferroptosis.

Frequency and antimicrobial susceptibility of bacterial agents causing peritoneal dialysis-peritonitis in a Brazilian single center over 20 years

open access: yesCogent Medicine, 2016
Peritonitis remains the main complication of peritoneal dialysis (PD). Antimicrobial therapy may be threatened by development of bacterial resistance, demanding continuous surveillance of infectious agents to improve empirical treatment. The aims of this

Targeting Peptostreptococcus anaerobius with an Iron‐Based Nanozyme Reverses Ferroptosis Resistance and Enhances Antitumor Immunity in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An iron‐based nanozyme selectively eliminates intratumoral P. anaerobius while catalytically generating ROS to induce ferroptosis, synergistically suppressing colorectal cancer growth and activating anti‐tumor immunity through immunogenic cell death. ABSTRACT The intratumoral microbiota is a critical determinant of therapeutic outcomes in colorectal ...
