Mica: A Wireless Platform for Deeply Embedded Networks

IEEE Micro, 2002
Low-power integration of sensing, communication, and computation requires a new approach to wireless design. Flexible interfaces and primitive accelerators enable aggressive system-level optimizations.

MICA: A Learning Curve

The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, 2020
Techniques of minimally invasive bunion surgery have become increasingly popular in recent years. However, the learning curve involved in mastering these innovative techniques has not been described. To address this issue, a trained foot and ankle surgeon in a university hospital operated on 50 patients using the minimally invasive Chevron and Akin ...

Laminated mica nanosheets supported ionic liquid membrane for CO2 separation

Nanotechnology, 2019
Mica has attracted great attention due to its excellent photoelectric property and it is mainly used in the optics and electronics area. High-quality mica nanosheets exfoliated from natural ground mica have been successfully achieved recently.

Structural Features of Micas

Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry, 2002
The large number of mica species (end-members) and varieties is based on chemical variability and peculiar structural features like polytypism, local and global symmetry. In addition, mainly because of an inherent misfit between the constituent tetrahedral and octahedral sheets, in the specific mica structures several structural parameters undergo ...

van der Waals epitaxy of Al-doped ZnO film on mica as a flexible transparent heater with ultrafast thermal response

, 2018
In this paper, high-performance conducting Al-doped ZnO (AZO) electrodes were deposited on transparent and flexible muscovite mica substrates. The use of mica as a substrate material makes a van der Waals epitaxy possible, which significantly improves ...

Infrared Spectroscopy of Micas

Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry, 2002
Infrared (IR) spectroscopy can provide information about details of the atomic structure, lattice dynamics and the chemistry of mineral phases that may not be readily obtained from other analytical techniques. IR spectra originate in transitions between vibrational energy levels of vibrating atomic groups and they are observed as absorption spectra ...

Enhancement of Friction by Water Intercalated between Graphene and Mica.

Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters, 2017
Common experience shows that friction converts mechanical energy into heat. The first part of this process is vibrational excitation of atoms at the interface between rubbing bodies.

On the Chemical Classification of the Mica Group. II. The Basic Micas

Mineralogical Magazine and Journal of the Mineralogical Society, 1925
In the first part of this paper it was shown that the acid section of the mica group could be divided into two main series, the potash micas and the lithia micas. The molecular ratio of potash to silica was 1 : 6 and the micas were therefore represented as salts of an acid characterized by this value.
