Probing the structure of the cold dark matter halo with ancient mica
Mica can store (for >1 Gy) etchable tracks caused by atoms recoiling from WIMPs. Ancient mica is a directional detector despite the complex motions it makes with respect to the WIMP "wind".

Structure and Phase Transitions of Alkyl Chains on Mica
We use molecular dynamics as a tool to understand the structure and phase transitions [Osman et. al. J. Phys. Chem. B 2000, 104, 4433; 2002, 106, 653] in alkylammonium micas.

Flipping Our Scripts about Undocumented Immigration
This critical family history explores a common script about undocumented immigration: that undocumented immigrants unfairly have refused to “stand in line” for official, sanctioned immigration and instead have broken rules that the rest of ...

Cellular expression, trafficking, and function of two isoforms of human ULBP5/RAET1G [PDF]
Background: The activating immunoreceptor NKG2D is expressed on Natural Killer (NK) cells and subsets of T cells. NKG2D contributes to anti-tumour and anti-viral immune responses in vitro and in vivo. The ligands for NKG2D in humans are diverse proteins

Identification of pre-synaptic density networks using [11C]UCB-J PET imaging and ICA in mice
Background: Synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2A (SV2A) is a vesicle glycoprotein involved in neurotransmitter release. SV2A is located on the pre-synaptic terminals of neurons and visualized using the radioligand [11C]UCB-J and positron emission tomography (

PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...
