The interfacial and thermodynamic properties of five petroleum industry surfactants are evaluated under mild conditions. Interfacial tension is measured using spinning drop tensiometry, and critical micelle concentrations are determined conductometrically.

Feasibility of rational shape design of single-polymer micelle using spontaneous surface curvature [PDF]
Polymeric micelles are used in a variety of applications, with the micelle's shape often playing an important role. Consequently, a scheme to design micelles of arbitrary shape is desirable. In this paper, we consider micelles formed from a single, linear, multiblock copolymer, and we study how easily the micelle's shape can be controlled by altering ...

Finite Size Polyelectrolyte Bundles at Thermodynamic Equilibrium
We present the results of extensive computer simulations performed on solutions of monodisperse charged rod-like polyelectrolytes in the presence of trivalent counterions. To overcome energy barriers we used a combination of parallel tempering and hybrid

Gold Nanoparticle Adsorption and Uptake are Directed by Particle Capping Agent
This study explores how ligand‐coated gold nanoparticles (NPs) interact with model membranes. Combining atomic force microscopy (AFM) and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, it shows how coating properties affect adsorption. The AFM‐MD approach offers a predictive platform for nanoparticle design and toxicity, enabling tailored nanomedicine ...

Beyond Core–Shell Micellar Structures: Complex Structures in Simple Surfactants
The structure of Triton X‐100 assemblies is examined and compared with that of C12EO10 micelles. Although both have similar molecular weights and identical hydrophilic segments, in these findings, it is revealed that Triton X‐100 cannot be represented by a singular structure.

Critical self-association of bile lipids studied by infrared spectroscopy and viscometry.
Fourier transform infrared (FTIR)-attenuated total reflection (ATR) spectroscopy and viscometry were applied to study the micellization of two bile lipids, sodium taurochenodeoxycholate (NaTCDC) and sodium glycocholate (NaGC), in aqueous solutions.

Shape of Mixed Micelles: Cylinders or Spheres? Theoretical Analysis [PDF]
We develop a theoretical model for the solubilization of phospholipid bilayers by micelle-forming surfactants. Cylindrical micelles, disc-like micelles and spherical micelles are considered as alternative resultant structures. The main question addressed is what kind of micelles can be expected under various thermodynamical conditions.

Long‐term steroid use can elevate intraocular pressure (IOP) and lead to steroid‐induced glaucoma by promoting extracellular matrix (ECM) accumulation in the trabecular meshwork (TM). This study demonstrates that bone morphogenetic protein‐7 (BMP‐7), delivered via a micellized protein transduction domain (mPTD), effectively inhibits steroid‐induced ECM
