This graphical abstract shows the experiments conducted, including interfacial tension, contact angle, oil swelling and production under imbibition, along with graphs presenting the results. Abstract Oil production from tight reservoirs due to their very low permeability and high capillary pressure requires complex operations and materials, so that ...

Parametric Equations of the Theory of Formation of Spherical Micelles [PDF]
Using the notion of aggregation work, we construct a system of differential equations for the aggregation number of micelles which is a function of the parameters of micellization (parametric equations). There are explicit solutions for two important models of spherical micelles.

Finite-size effects and optimal system sizes in simulations of surfactant micelle self-assembly [PDF]
The spontaneous formation of micelles in aqueous solutions is governed by the amphipathic nature of surfactants and is practically interesting due to the regular use of micelles as membrane mimics, for the characterization of protein structure, and for drug design and delivery.

ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a devastating form of dementia, with the number of affected individuals rising sharply. The main hallmarks of the disease include amyloid‐beta plaque deposits and neurofibrillary tangles consisting of hyperphosphorylated tau protein, besides other pathological features that contribute to the disease's complexity ...

Micelle Formation and the Hydrophobic Effect [PDF]
The tendency of amphiphilic molecules to form micelles in aqueous solution is a consequence of the hydrophobic effect. The fundamental difference between micelle assembly and macroscopic phase separation is the stoichiometric constraint that frustrates the demixing of polar and hydrophobic groups.

Effect of Bilayer Thickness on Membrane Bending Rigidity
The bending rigidity $k_c$ of bilayer vesicles self-assembled from amphiphilic diblock copolymers has been measured using single and dual-micropipet techniques.

Effect of Chlorophylls on the Bioaccessibility of Lutein
Lutein has a variety of physiological activities, which can not be synthesized by human body and can only be obtained through diet. Dietary lutein shows low bioaccessibility due to its lipo-soluble nature and thus the efficient supplementation of lutein ...

Dynamics of Vesicle Formation from Lipid Droplet: Mechanism and Controllability
A coarse-grained model developed by Marrink et al. [J. Phys. Chem. B 111, 7812 (2007)] is applied to investigate vesiculation of lipid [dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC)] droplets in water.

Study of Hydrophobic Domains in Humic Acids [PDF]
Fyzikálně-chemická povaha hydrofobních domén huminových kyselin byla studována z několika hledisek. K objasnění významu fluorescenčních spekter byly vzorky podrobeny sekvenční frakcionaci, která pomohla k částečnému objasnění vlivu vodorozpustných složek,
