With so many people traveling to areas of the country where coccidioidomycosis is endemic, recognizing this disease has become a matter of concern to physicians in every state. A history of exposure is an essential clue in diagnosis, but absence from an endemic area for a considerable time does not exclude the possibility of the disease.
