Raman Line Scan Analyses and a New Hypothesis for the Formation of Anatase‐Hosting Microbialites: Study of the Stromatolites From Saint‐Jean‐de‐la‐Rivière, Cotentin, France

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Micrometer analysis of millimeter lines of Raman spectra concludes in the association of anatase and graphitized organic matter (graphogen). The photosynthetic microorganisms at the origin of the microbialites produce O2, which is transformed by TiO2 into reactive species that, in turn, decompose the organic matter of the microorganisms. ABSTRACT Raman

Recent Advances in Photonic Bound States in the Continuum: From Fundamentals to Engineering and Implementation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This review summarizes recent progress in meta‐photonics with a focus on bound states in the continuum (BICs) as a powerful platform for light confinement and control. It covers fundamental concepts, design strategies across optical regimes, symmetry breaking for practical quasi‐BICs, tunable and AI‐assisted BIC devices, and emerging applications in ...

Broadband Mode Converter With Customizable Modal Ratio Leveraging Subwavelength Engineering for Advanced Multimode Silicon Photonics

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work introduces a customizable mode converter for multimode silicon photonics, enabling precise control over the conversion ratio between optical modes. The device operates across a broad wavelength range (1350–1700 nm) with 15 distinct conversion levels.

Stimulated Forward Brillouin Scattering in Subwavelength Grating Silicon Membranes

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work proposes a novel strategy to achieve large Brillouin scattering with independent control of the optical and mechanical modes using subwavelength silicon membranes. We experimentally demonstrate remarkably high Brillouin gain, resulting in an on/off Stokes gain of 3 dB and anti‐Stokes loss of 4 dB in a 6 mm‐long waveguide with 35 mW of on‐chip

Microstructural evolution of V‐Ti‐B based high‐temperature alloys during surface conditioning by means of laser beam melting Entwicklung der Gefüge von V‐Ti‐B‐Hochtemperatur‐Legierungen während der Oberflächenmodifikation mittels selektivem Laserstrahlschmelzen

open access: yesMaterialwissenschaft und Werkstofftechnik, EarlyView.
This study explores laser beam melting (LBM) on V‐Ti‐B alloys for high‐temperature applications. By applying two laser power levels, researchers analyzed microstructural evolution via scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. Hardness tests revealed surface conditioning increases of 5 % ‐ 33 %.

Quantification of 10B and 11B in Biological Samples in Translational Science and Clinical Applications for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT)

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a targeted radiotherapy that exploits the selective accumulation of the 10B isotope within tumors, followed by irradiation with low‐energy neutrons to induce high linear energy transfer particles with short path lengths, resulting in localized tumor cell destruction while sparing surrounding healthy ...
