New micro channel features

Digest of Papers Compcon Spring '90. Thirty-Fifth IEEE Computer Society International Conference on Intellectual Leverage, 2002
Three features of the Micro Channel architecture are discussed. These features broaden the characteristics of that architecture to support advanced I/O devices or systems. These new features are a streaming data procedure (including 64-b transfers), address and data parity, and synchronous exception signaling.

Modeling cell entry into a micro-channel

Biomechanics and Modeling in Mechanobiology, 2010
Cell entry into a micro-channel has potential applications in cell sorting and cancer diagnostics. In this paper, we numerically model breast cancer cell entry into a constricted micro-channel. Our results indicate that the cell velocity decreases during entry and increases after entry, an observation in agreement with experiments.

System Instability of Evaporative Micro-Channels

Volume 3: Combustion, Fire and Reacting Flow; Heat Transfer in Multiphase Systems; Heat Transfer in Transport Phenomena in Manufacturing and Materials Processing; Heat and Mass Transfer in Biotechnology; Low Temperature Heat Transfer; Environmental Heat Transfer; Heat Transfer Education; Visualization of Heat Transfer, 2009
During the operation of parallel evaporative micro-channels, system instability may occur in terms of cyclical fluctuations at a long period. This is due to the co-existence of the liquid phase flow at high mass flux and the two-phase flow at a lower mass flux among different parallel channels under the same total pressure drop.

A Supramolecular Approach to Enzyme Immobilization in Micro‐Channels

Small, 2012
AbstractA supramolecular assembly scheme is developed to enable the facile in‐situ immobilization of enzymes in a microfluidic channel system. A combination of orthogonal supramolecular interactions of host (β‐cyclodextrin)–guest (adamantane) and biotin–Streptavidin (SAv) interactions are employed to generate reusable homogeneous enzyme layers in ...

Boiling in micro-channels

Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences: Technical Sciences, 2010
Boiling in micro-channelsBoiling heat transfer in micro-channels is a subject of intense academic and practical interest. Though many heat transfer correlations have been proposed, most were empirically formulated from experimental data. However, hydrodynamic and thermal aspects of boiling in micro-channels are not well understood.
