MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Micromechanics of creep fracture: simulation of intergranular crack growth [PDF]
A computational model is presented to analyze intergranular creep crack growth in a polycrystalline aggregate in a discrete manner and based directly on the underlying physical micromechanisms.

This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Nonlinear dynamics of a rotating shaft with a breathing crack [PDF]
In this paper, the effects of a breathing crack on the vibratory characteris- tics of a rotating shaft are investigated. A new, simple and robust model composed of two rigid bars connected with a nonlinear flexural spring is proposed.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

The Threshold of Micro Crack Propagation under Mixed Mode
In order to investigate the threshold condition of micro fatigue crack propagation under mixed mode, tests of cyclic plane bending, cyclic torsion and their combinations are carried out with a stress ratio R=-l. Annealed cracked specimens made of carbon steel are used in the tests.

Fatigue crack shielding in plain bearings under large scale yielding
Multi-layered bearing systems used in the automotive industry show shielding and antishielding effects that reduce or amplify the crack driving force under large-scale yielding conditions. Using finite element analysis, it is shown that shielding in such

Fatigue crack growth behaviour and life prediction for 2324-T39 and 7050-T7451 aluminium alloys under truncated load spectra [PDF]
This paper presents a study of crack growth behaviour in aluminium alloys 2324- T39 and 7050-T7451 subjected to flight-by-flight load spectra at different low- stress truncation levels. Crack branching was observed in the higher truncation levels for the

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for
