Imaging of Micro-Cracks by Photo-Displacement Microscopy

Thermal waves are generated using a modulated conductor laser as the heat source. The resulting disturbance is sensed, by means of a HeNe laser probe, which detects the vertical displacement of the surface. The probing laser spot can be coincident with that of the thermal wave generating laser.
