Numerical characterization of dual radio frequency micro-discharges

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
Micro-discharges have many excellent characteristics, such as generation of high-density and non-equilibrium plasmas at atmospheric pressure. In this paper, we used an implicit particle-in-cell/Monte Carlo collision method for three-dimensional ...

High-pressure micro-discharges in etching and deposition applications [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2003
High-pressure micro-discharges are promising sources of light, ions, and radicals and offer some advantages in materials processing applications as compared to other more conventional discharges.

Droplet impact on plasma surfaces: an interplay of the four states of matter [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications
Non-thermal plasmas such as dielectric barrier discharges (DBD) in the vicinity of liquids may induce water activation, interfacial deformation, and enhanced evaporation through charge, mass, and energy transport.

Demonstration of Dynamics of Nanosecond Discharge in Liquid Water Using Four-Channel Time-Resolved ICCD Microscopy

open access: yesPlasma, 2021
The microscopic physical mechanisms of micro-discharges produced in liquid waters by nanosecond high-voltage pulses are quite complex phenomena, and relevant coherent experimentally supported theoretical descriptions are yet to be provided. In this study,

Use of DSLR and Sonic Cameras to Detect and Locate High-Voltage Corona Discharges

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Corona discharges are a concern in high-voltage applications. It is of utmost importance to detect and locate the discharges at an early stage using simple methods for this purpose.

Effect of weir´s theoretical discharge coefficient on discharge measurements in small Andean streams

open access: yesLa Granja: Revista de Ciencias de la Vida, 2022
Andean ecosystems provide important hydrological services for downstream communities. Due to this importance, several hydrological studies have been carried out in recent years, with emphasis on hydrological processes identification and land use change ...

Optical Diagnostics of Micro Discharge Jets [PDF]

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, 2007
AbstractMicro plasmas operated at ambient pressure with dimensions of the confining geometry in the order of a few ten micrometers to a millimeter are actually in the focus of interest due to the broad regime of applicability they offer and due to a similarly broad range of open physical questions.

High-Frequency-Induced Cathodic Breakdown during Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The present communication shows the possibility of observing microdischarges under cathodic polarization during plasma electrolytic oxidation at high frequency. Cathodic microdischarges can ignite beyond a threshold frequency found close to 2 kHz.
