ABSTRACT With the rapid proliferation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the military, logistics and public safety sectors, the threat of illegal intrusion, information theft, and security breaches has increased. This paper provides a comprehensive review of recent developments in counter‐unmanned aerial vehicle (counter‐UAV) systems, focussing on ...

UAV‐Radar‐Based Through‐Wall Human Activity Recognition via Frequency‐Selective STFT‐ResNet
This letter presents a UAV‐mounted radar system for through‐wall human activity recognition in high‐rise buildings. By combining STFT‐based spectrogram processing with a frequency‐selective ResNet18 network, the method effectively filters noisy subcarriers and classifies activities with high accuracy. Experimental results demonstrate 98.08% recognition

Child‐presence detection systems based on ultra‐wideband radar can suffer false alarms when trunk‐lid motion resembles in‐cabin human activity. We propose a lightweight streaming time‐domain detector that uses sliding‐window skewness and kurtosis of the radar amplitude to distinguish stationary trunk plateaus from irregular human motion without ...

Classification of Drones Based on Micro-Doppler Radar Signatures Using Dual Radar Sensors
Classification of drones is important due to their increasing popularity and potential threats. The micro-Doppler signatures that depend on the rotation of rotor blades facilitate the classification of drones.

Computationally Efficient Pruning Before Training Scheme for SNN‐Based Radar Gesture Recognition
In this work, we propose a Spike Timing‐driven Pruning before Training (ST‐PBT) method for radar‐based human gesture recognition. The proposed ST‐PBT performs a single‐shot pruning at the model initialisation, avoiding the expensive computational cost and compression time incurred in the model pre‐training. Furthermore, the ST‐PBT introduces a gradient‐

Cloud boundary height measurements using lidar and radar
Using only lidar or radar an accurate cloud boundary height estimate is often not possible. The combination of lidar and radar can give a reliable cloud boundary estimate in a much broader range of cases.
