Efficient Protocol to Use FMCW Radar and CNN to Distinguish Micro-Doppler Signatures of Multiple Drones and Birds

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Classification of multiple drones and birds by comparing micro-Doppler (MD) signatures is a very difficult task because the MD signatures of multiple birds can contaminate the MD signature of drones, and because a single drone can yield a very similar MD

UAV Recognition Based on Micro-Doppler Dynamic Attribute-Guided Augmentation Algorithm

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
A micro-Doppler signature (m-DS) based on the rotation of drone blades is an effective way to detect and identify small drones. Deep-learning-based recognition algorithms can achieve higher recognition performance, but they needs a large amount of sample

Micro-Doppler feature extraction under passive radar based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing communication signal

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Micro-Doppler (m-D) effect is a unique signature of radar targets with micro-motion, which provides a new technique for target recognition. Passive radar based on communication signal has a great significance in detection and recognition for micro-motion

Review of micro‐Doppler signatures

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation, 2015
Micro‐Doppler signals refer to Doppler scattering returns produced by the motions of the target other than gross translation. The small micro‐motions of a subject, and even just parts of a subject, can be observed through the micro‐Doppler signature it creates in response to an active emitter such as a radar, laser, and even acoustic emitters.

Characterization of Droplet Formation in Ultrasonic Spray Coating: Influence of Ink Formulation Using Phase Doppler Anemometry and Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study explores how machine learning models, trained on small experimental datasets obtained via Phase Doppler Anemometry (PDA), can accurately predict droplet size (D32) in ultrasonic spray coating (USSC). By capturing the influence of ink complexity (solvent, polymer, nanoparticles), power, and flow rate, the model enables precise droplet control

Linear Discriminant Analysis-Based Motion Classification Using Distributed Micro-Doppler Radars with Limited Backhaul

open access: yesSensors, 2021
In this paper, we propose a cooperative linear discriminant analysis (LDA)-based motion classification algorithm for distributed micro-Doppler (MD) radars which are connected to a data fusion center through the limited backhaul.

Metasurface‐Enabled Active‐Like Passive Radar

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A programmable space‐time‐coding metasurface embeds distinct spatiotemporal tags into ambient wireless signals, allowing passive radar to operate in an active‐like manner. By enabling code‐correlated reconstruction under interference, the approach supports robust real‐time UAV tracking in complex environments and points to intelligent, low‐power ...

Deep Learning Network‐Tailored Microenvironment Matching of 4D Bioprinting Bioactive Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DLN dataset was built to analyze MABS composition versus in vitro/in vivo osteogenesis and angiogenesis. An MLP neural network, taking BG morphological parameters as input, extracts bioactive features from these datasets. A rabbit tibial defect model then validates 4D‐printed MABS for adaptability and bone regeneration in critical defects.

Template free Micro Doppler Signature Classification for Wheeled and Tracked Vehicles

open access: yes, 2019
The micro-Doppler signature is a time-varying frequency modulation imparted on radar echo caused by target’s micro-motion. To save the trouble of constructing template in the target classification, this paper investigates the micro-Doppler signature of ...

The radar signature of the Wind Lens: a less disruptive wind turbine? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We study the radar signature of a new type of wind turbine, named the Wind Lens. This design includes a flanged shroud around the turbine which concentrates the wind flow past the turbine blades and hence improves the efficiency.
