Horizontal convective boiling of R448A, R449A, and R452B within a micro-fin tube. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Technol Built Environ, 2016
This article presents local convective boiling measurements in a micro-fin tube for three low global warming potential refrigerants: R448A, R449A, and R452B. An existing correlation was modified to predict multi-component mixtures, which predicted 98% of the measurements to within ±20%.

Horizontal convective boiling of R1234yf, R134a, and R450A within a micro-fin tube. [PDF]

open access: yesInt J Refrig, 2018
This paper presents local convective boiling heat transfer and Fanning friction factor measurements in a micro-fin tube for R134a and two possible low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant replacements for R134a, namely R1234yf and R450A. Test section heating was achieved with water in either counterflow or in parallel flow with the test ...

Evaporation Performance Research of New Micro-fin Copper Tube

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2007
The evaporation heat transfer was experimentally investigated for the slim, cross, smooth and general micro - fin tubes in our study. The results show that the heat transfer coefficients increase with the refrigerant mass flow rate for all tested tubes ...

Heat transfer during reflux condensation of R134a inside a micro-fin tube with different tube inclinations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Refrigeration, 2017
Abstract This study presents an experimental investigation of the heat transfer occurring during reflux condensation of refrigerant R134a in an inclined micro-fin tube (0.008 m OD, 0.5 m length). The experiments were carried out at a system pressure of 0.74 MPa and at inclination angles of 30°, 38°, 45°, 60° and 90° from the horizontal.

Performance analysis of micro-fin tubes compared to smooth tubes as a heat transfer enhancement technique for flow condensation

open access: yesEnergy Nexus, 2022
Heat transfer enhancement techniques are accompanied by pressure drop amplification, detrimentally affecting their performance; entropy generation analysis is an effective approach to assess heat transfer enhancement along with resulting pressure drop ...

Effect of Tube Expansion on Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop Characteristics During Condensation in Micro-Fin Tubes

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2021
Despite of the large number of research dedicated to condensation heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics in pristine micro-fin tubes, experimental investigation on effects of tube expansion have not been reported in the open literature.
