CONVECTIVE CONDENSATION OF R410A IN MICRO-FIN TUBES

Journal of Enhanced Heat Transfer, 2012
An experimental investigation was performed for convective condensation ofR410A inside five micro-fin tubes with the same outer diameter of 5 mm and helix angle of 18°. Data are for mass fluxes ranging from about 180 to 650 kg/m2 s. The nominal saturation temperature is 320 K, with inlet and outlet qualities of 0.8 and 0.1, respectively.

Heat transfer characteristics in micro-fin tube equipped with double twisted tapes: Effect of twisted tape and micro-fin tube arrangements

Journal of Hydrodynamics, 2013
An experimental study was carried out to investigate the influence of double twisted-tape inserts (DTs) in micro-fin tubes (MFs) on heat transfer, friction factor and thermal performance factor characteristics of the compound devices in the following configurations: (1) twisted tapes acted in the same direction (for co-swirl) while MF and twisted tapes

Convective vaporization in micro-fin tubes of different geometries

Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2013
An experimental investigation was performed for convective vaporization of R22 and R410A inside one smooth tube and five micro-fin tubes with the same outer diameter of 5 mm. Data are for mass fluxes ranging from 100 to 620 kg/m2 s at 279 K saturation temperature.

Experimental Study of Condensation in Horizontal Micro-Fin Tubes

44th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 2006
The condensation heat transfer for R134a in the two kinds of in-tube three-dimensional (3-D) micro -fin tubes with different geometries is experimentally investigated. Based on the flow pattern observations, the flow patterns in the Soliman flow regime map are divided into two-flow regimes; one with the vapor -shear-dominant annular regime and the ...

A Review of Refrigerant Condensation in Horizontal Micro-Fin Tubes

Advanced Energy Systems, 2000
Abstract This paper reviews currently available experimental evidence and predictive techniques for heat transfer and pressure drop during film condensation in horizontal micro-fin tubes, as used in heat pump systems. The enhanced heat transfer mechanism of condensation using micro-fin tubes is explained, and special attention is paid to

Condensation heat transfer of herringbone micro fin tubes

International Journal of Thermal Sciences, 2002
Experiments of in-tube condensation of R410A were carried out for a smooth tube, a helical micro fin tube and three types of herringbone micro fin tubes, which have different fin height and helix angle. In the herringbone micro fin tube, the micro fins work to remove liquid at fin-diverging parts and collect liquid at fin-converging parts.

In-tube evaporation of HCFC-22 in a 9.52 mm micro-fin/smooth tube

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 1996
Abstract Experimental data on evaporation in a 9.52 mm diameter micro-fin tube and a smooth tube with similar tube diameter are presented. The data were taken at two different evaporation temperatures (6°C and 10°C, respectively). The mass flux was between 100 and 300 kg m−2s−1 and the heat fluxes were between 6 and 14 kW m−2.

A heat transfer correlation of flow boiling in micro-finned helically coiled tube

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2005
In the research of intube flow boiling, a widely accepted factor is that there are two main mechanisms participating in the heat transfer. One is nucleate boiling, which is dependent on the presence of active nuclei on the heated wall and the heat transfer coefficient is much influenced by the heat flux, much similar to pool boiling.
