Influence of Chemical Etching on Surface Micro-Geometry of Titanium Implants [PDF]
The article deals with influence of chemical etching and polishing on some roughness parameters of titanium parts surface, designed for implantation into human organism. Titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V was used for the experiment. Analysed samples were created by conventional mechanical machining methods as milling, grinding and polishing.

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Effects of rarefaction on cavity flow in the slip regime [PDF]
The Navier-Stokes-Fourier equations, with boundary conditions that account for the effects of velocity-slip and temperature-jump, are compared to the direct simulation Monte Carlo method for the case of a lid-driven micro-cavity.
