Ultra-micro-hardness of organic and inorganic crystals

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1993
The measurement of ultra-micro-hardness is an attempt to find a physical property which can be used for the description of the so-called abrasion resistance of crystals produced in chemical engineering equipment. Such approaches are necessary in order to compare calculations of the secondary nucleation rates for different substances.

MICRO-HARDNESS MEASUREMENT OF STONE SAMPLES

2017
Stone hardness is an important factor which strongly affects machinability and overall quality of the stone machining processes. Identification of such heterogeneous materials in order to establish matching cutting parameters often requires a large number of micro-hardness measurements to be taken.

Long-term surface micro-hardness of resin-modified glass ionomers

Journal of Dentistry, 1998
The presence of a resin component in resin-modified glass-ionomer cements (RMGICs) results in considerable water sorption which may affect the surface hardness of the materials. This study investigated the effect of long-term storage in aqueous solutions on the surface hardness of RMGICs.The surface micro-hardness of four RMGICs stored in either ...

Micro-hardness of neutron irradiated uranium dioxide at room temperature.

Journal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 1983
Knoop hardness tests were performed on irradiated UO2 in the fission range of 1014–1018 fiss./cm3. Hardness values were obtained as a function of applied load (25–1,000 g). Three different regions of load dependence on hardness [work hardening or plastic (25–70 g), plateau (70–100 g) and crack formation (over 100 g) regions] were observed in a similar ...

Micro-hardness measurements on single haversian systems in bone

Experientia, 1954

Effect of pressure and light curing of composite micro hardness.

Journal of biological regulators and homeostatic agents, 2020
The aim of this study is to evaluate the micro hardness Vickers of a composite micro hybrid polymerized under constant pressure. Twelve experimental samples were made equally divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control. Enamel plus HRi (Micerium) microbiotic composite resin, UD3 colour, was inserted into a syringe heater (ENA HEAT ...

TIME DEPENDENT CHANGES IN MICRO-HARDNESS OF BIOACTIVE CEMENTS

2015
The objective of this study was to compare time dependent micro-hardness of several bioactive cement compositions as compared to that of non-bioactive cement, a conventional glass ionomer. Materials & Methods: Three bioactive materials Ceramir Crown & Bridge Cement (CCB), Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA), Biodentine (BD)], and a glass ionomer ...
