Control of Suddenly Expanded Flows with Micro-Jets
International Journal of Turbo and Jet Engines, 2003The results of an experimental investigation carried out to control the base pressure in a suddenly expanded axi-symmetric passage are presented in this paper. Active control in the form of micro-jets was employed to control the base pressure. Air injection at four locations at the base, symmetric to the nozzle axis was used as the active control ...

Micro-jet plasma CVD with HMDSO/O2
Surface and Coatings Technology, 2005Abstract Micro-jet plasma chemical vapor deposition can produce quartz-like localized coatings from HMDSO/O 2 (hexamethyldisiloxane) mixture with an extremely high deposition rate (120 μm/s). The reaction between HMDSO and O 2 takes place in the jet. Less than 0.5 ms is required to remove the methyl groups from the monomer and to oxidize Si.

The Temperature and Ionization of T-Tauri Micro-Jets
Astrophysics and Space Science, 2004The effects of phenomenological heating functions on the flow thermodynamics of cold T-Tauri disk winds are examined. Turbulent dissipation (mechanical) heating and a warm disk corona are invoked to heat the wind. The temperature and ionization evolution are solved for along the flow.

Micro-jets in confined turbulent cross flow
Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2006The mixing of sub-millimetre diameter jets issuing into a turbulent cross flow is examined with a combination of laser diagnostic techniques. The cross flow stream is in a confined duct and the micro-jet issue from the sides of injector vanes. A range of cross jet momentum ratios, cross flow temperatures and turbulence intensities are investigated to ...

Micro-jet printing of polymers for electronics manufacturing
Proceedings of 3rd International Conference on Adhesive Joining and Coating Technology in Electronics Manufacturing 1998 (Cat. No.98EX180), 2002Ink-jet/micro-jet printing methods are being developed for direct writing of a variety of materials for electronics and optoelectronics manufacturing. Advantages offered by this approach for micro-element fabrication and adhesive joining include precise volumetric control of dispensed material, data-driven flexibility, low cost, high speed and low ...

Micro-Jet Arrays for Cooling of Electronic Equipment
ASME 3rd International Conference on Microchannels and Minichannels, Part B cont’d, 2005A high heat flux cooling system using an array of micro-jets is presented. The Micro-Jet Cooling Array (MJCA) is based on an array of small diameter micro-jets, with jet diameters as low as 300 microns. The return flow in MJCA is arranged so that the effect of neighboring jets is essentially eliminated and the high heat fluxes achievable in a single ...

Droplet generation from pulsed micro-jets
Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2008Abstract This paper presents an experimental study on the fluid dynamics of pulsed micro-jets (orifice diameter 20 μm), including jet breakup and droplet formation. The pulsed micro-jets were generated using a piezoelectric inkjet printhead with varied working voltages and ejection frequencies. For low ejection frequencies, meniscus had time to relax

State of the Art of Mini/Micro Jet Reactors
Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2013AbstractFor over three decades, opposed‐jets reactors have been applied particularly for fast complex chemical reactions where mixing affects the final product distribution. The first opposed‐jets reactors, i.e., confined impinging jets (CIJ), had cylindrical geometries.

Laser Micro-Jet Processing on Red Copper
Advanced Materials Research, 2012Red copper is difficult to process with laser for its high reflection rate and high density. On the contrary, with the development of Modern Laser Micro-Jet processing, the new Laser Micro-jet with 30μm and 130μm are utilized to process new area like red copper plate etc., new Laser Micro-jet with 30μm nozzle is redesigned as well as working experiment
