Feasibility of a quantum memory for continuous variables based on trapped ions [PDF]
We propose to use a large cloud of cold trapped ions as a medium for quantum optics and quantum information experiments. Contrary to most recent realizations of qubit manipulation based on a small number of trapped and cooled ions, we study the case of ...

Periodically-driven quantum systems: Effective Hamiltonians and engineered gauge fields
Driving a quantum system periodically in time can profoundly alter its long-time dynamics and trigger topological order. Such schemes are particularly promising for generating non-trivial energy bands and gauge structures in quantum-matter systems. Here,

Reaction blockading in charged-neutral excited-state chemistry at low collision energy
We study an excited atom-polar molecular ion chemical reaction (Ca$^*$ + BaCl$^+$) at low temperature by utilizing a hybrid atom-ion trapping system. The reaction rate and product branching fractions are measured and compared to model calculations as a ...

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

SpikeMM: Flexi-Magnification of High-Speed Micro-Motions
The amplification of high-speed micro-motions holds significant promise, with applications spanning fault detection in fast-paced industrial environments to refining precision in medical procedures. However, conventional motion magnification algorithms often encounter challenges in high-speed scenarios due to low sampling rates or motion blur.

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

A Micro-Motion Parameters Estimation Method for Multi-Rotor Targets without a Prior
Multi-rotor aircraft have the advantages of a simple structure, low cost, and flexible operation in the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) family, and have developed rapidly in recent years. Radar surveillance and classification of the growing number of multi-
