A rotor in motion transfers energy to the fluid, comprising not only the essential axial component but also a rotating segment that contributes to propeller thrust. This study scrutinizes the effects of integrating swirl recovery vanes (SRVs) with the eight‐bladed SR3 rotor for transonic flows in a tractor prop configuration, examining setups both with

High-temperature, flexible, thermal barrier seal [PDF]
This device seals the sliding interfaces between structural panels that are roughly perpendicular to each other or whose edges are butted against one another. The nonuniformity of the gap between the panels requires significant flexibility along the seal

Very high cycle fatigue of fiber‐reinforced polymer composites: Uniaxial ultrasonic fatigue
Abstract This review explores uniaxial ultrasonic fatigue (USF) testing as a common and dependable method for quantifying the extended fatigue life of fiber‐reinforced polymer (FRP) composites. The objective is to explain the complexities governing the fatigue life behavior of FRPs, particularly in the realm of very high cycle fatigue (VHCF) where the ...

Novel technique of vibration minimization during hard machining
This research study examines the performance of electrorheological fluids, also referred to as smart fluids, which have gained popularity because they instantly alter when exposed to an external magnetic or electric field. When high voltage is applied, the ER fluid quickly changes from a viscous liquid to a semisolid state, which is reversible.

Damage and Failure of Aeroengine Blades Under Small UAV Impacts
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) may collide with vulnerable parts of other aircrafts, such as engine blades, causing accidents. The research on small UAV impact is limited. Besides, UAV impact with propeller and rotor blades is poorly understood. In this paper, a finite element (FE) model of a UAV with a weight of 4.78 kg, turbofan blades, propeller ...
