MICRO-BOSS: A micro-opportunistic factory scheduler
Expert Systems with Applications, 1990In a global market economy, the need for cost-efficient production management techniques is becoming more critical every day. In contrast with this need, current production management practice is too often characterized by low levels of due date satisfaction, high levels of inventory and, more generally, a state of chaos, in which the computer systems ...

Nitride micro‐display with integrated micro‐lenses
physica status solidi (c), 2005We report progress in control of the emission from both parallel-addressed and matrix-addressed micro-array light-emitting diodes (micro-LEDs), using integrated micro-lenses. The integrated matrix-addressed device consists of a 128 × 96 element array with 470 nm emission, aligned to a 128 × 96 element sapphire micro-lens array.

Micro-sensors with novel micro-channels in a micro-reformer
International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2010Abstract Fuel flow rate, temperature and pressure significantly influence the working efficiency of micro-reformers. Owing to their large volumes, conventional sensors can only be used to evaluate the outfield of a reformer and the inlet or outlet of a fuel gas cylinder.

Micro-Actuator for Micro-Particles
1990This paper describes a micro-actuator capable of carrying particles smaller than 0.5 mm in diameter. The actuator consists of a conductive guide with striped electrodes embedded in an insulation layer, and a driving circuit. The particles move along the guide when the voltage is switched from one electrode to the next.

Micro/Nanotribology and Micro/Nanomechanics
1996The micro/nanotribological and micro/nanomechanics studies are needed to develop fundamental understanding of interfacial phenomena on a small scale, and to study interfacial phenomena in micro- and nanostructures used in magnetic storage systems, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), and other industrial applications (Bhushan, 1995a, 1995b, 1995c ...
