WORLD-CRYSTAL UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE AND MICRO BLACK HOLES

International Journal of Modern Physics D, 2011
We formulate generalized uncertainty relations in a crystal-like universe whose lattice spacing is of order of Planck length — a "world crystal". For energies near the border of the Brillouin zone, i.e. for Planckian energies, the uncertainty relation for position and momentum does not pose any lower bound.

Upper limits on micro-mini black holes

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1981
The equations determining cosmic nucleosynthesis up to4He are modified to take account of black-hole evaporation during nucleosynthesis. Numerical calculation shows that deuterium is enhanced by the presence of these micro-mini black holes (μmBH); but very high-density universes are difficult to reconcile with observations, even with a very large ...

Thermal duality and thermodynamics of micro black holes

International Journal of Modern Physics D, 2015
Starting from a generalized black hole entropy with logarithmic area corrections, in this paper we obtain (for positive value of the coefficient of the correction term) a generalized equation of state for black holes with two dual branches. In one of them (the usual one for macro black holes) T ≃ 1/M, with T temperature and M mass.

Searching for micro black holes at LHC

2007
An exciting feature of brane-world models with large extra dimensions [1] is that the fundamental scale of gravity M G could be as low as the electroweak scale (M G ≃ 1TeV). Since the mass of a black hole must be larger than M G, otherwise the classical concept of event horizon would be lost, micro black holes of a few TeV’s may therefore be produced ...

MICRO BLACK HOLES PHYSICS FROM WORLD-CRYSTAL UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE

Proceedings of the Conference in Honour of Murray Gell-Mann's 80th Birthday, 2010
We formulate generalized uncertainty relations in a crystal-like universe whose lattice spacing is of order of Planck length — a “world crystal”. For energies near the border of the Brillouin zone, i.e., for Planckian energies, the uncertainty relation for position and momentum does not pose any lower bound.

Micro-Structure of Black Holes and String Theory

1999
Black holes are a subject of much interest in various areas of astro-physics and physics. There is little doubt among astronomers about black hole candidates in binary systems and there is also evidence that the matter of galaxies is belched in ‘active galactic nuclei’ which are black holes with a million times the solar mass. Why do black holes occur?
