The Impact of Cracked Microparticles on the Mechanical and the Fracture Behavior of Particulate Composite [PDF]
In this investigation a metallic composite with a cracked micro has been investigated using finite element method. Particulate reinforced composite is one of the most favorite composite due to it quit isotopic properties.

Fracture mechanics of micro samples: Fundamental considerations
In this review article we consider the crack growth resistance of micrometer and sub-micrometer sized samples from the fracture mechanics point of view. Standard fracture mechanics test procedures were developed for macro-scale samples, and reduction of ...

Crack Propagation Model for Reproduction of Crack Paths in Micro-Solder Joints
We investigated the mechanism of crack propagation in micro-solder joints in a semiconductor structure and developed a new crack propagation model. In micro-solder joints, solder crack might propagate not only at the interface itself but also near the solder and land interfaces. Conventional crack propagation models based on fracture mechanics, however,

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Micro-crack Growth Mode and Chipping Behavior of HIP Ferrite
Magnetic head made of polycrystalline ferrite sintered by HIP method is widely used in an audio and video installation. Work damage such as a chipping induced by slicing of ferrite gives rise to the deterioration of an electro-magnetic property of the ...

Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Micro-crack Initiation Mechanism of DZ125 Ni-based Alloy During Very High Cycle Fatigue
The DZ125 alloy has excellent mechanical, fatigue, and high-temperature behaviors. It has been widely used in high-temperature gas turbine components. Although a lot of researches have been carried out on the fatigue problem of the DZ125 alloy, there are

Evaluation of Shear-Punched Surface Layer Damage in Three Types of High-Strength TRIP-Aided Steel
The damage properties in the shear-punched surface layer, such as the strain-hardening increment, strain-induced martensite fraction, and initiated micro-crack/void characteristics at the shear and break sections, were experimentally evaluated to relate ...

X‐ray computed tomography reveals how process‐induced defects evolve from green to sintered states in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)‐manufactured 17‐4PH stainless steel. Internal porosity, weakest cross‐sections, and fracture locations show strong correlation with tensile performance, demonstrating the potential of computed tomography (CT)‐based ...
