Citizen Energy: Towards Populist Interactive Micro-Energy Production
2011 44th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2011Citizen Energy is a novel, participatory citizen engagement with energy that is designed to extend our relationship with energy beyond existing producer-consumer models towards ones that are more participatory, intimate, personal, social, and emotional.

Development of Electret Energy Harvester with Micro Spacer
2012 Fifth International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology, 2012This paper describes a development of MEMS (Micro Electromechanical Systems) -based electrostatic energy harvester for scavenging energy from ambient vibration. Generally, power output of electret harvester is increased with the narrower air-gap between an electret and an opposite electrode.

Bridging Electronics and Micro Energy Storage
2022The development of small, smart and remote objects requires microscale components and energy autonomy. Activated carbon electrodes with high specific surface areas, achieving high electrical double layer capacitances present an opportunity to associate electronic components and energy storage. Transistors are a key element in any integrated circuit and

Dynamic Coalition Formation in Energy Micro-Grids
2015In recent years the notion of electrical energy micro-grids, in which communities share their locally-generated power, has gained increasing interest. Typically the energy generated comes from renewable resources, which means that its availability is variable-sometimes there may be energy surpluses and at other times energy deficits.

International Journal of Virtual Communities and Social Networking, 2009
Since energy use is a type of consumer behavior reflecting the interests to maximize some objective function, the human being activities seen in energy terms might be used to create the social aggregations or groups. Electric energy generated from ecologic sources brings some unpredictability.

The Macro and Micro of it Is that Entropy Is the Spread of Energy
The Physics Teacher, 2016While entropy is often described as “disorder,” it is better thought of as a measure of how spread out energy is within a system. To illustrate this interpretation of entropy to introductory college or high school students, several activities have been created.
