Investigation of surface treatment effects in micro-injection-moulding

International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2009
Micro-injection-moulding as a replication method is one of the key technologies for micro-manufacture. An important stage in micro-injection- moulding which can affect the accuracy and mechanical properties of the produced components is part de-moulding.

Comparison of height replication properties of micro-injection moulding and micro-injection–compression moulding for production of microstructures on lightguiding plates

Plastics, Rubber and Composites, 2007
AbstractAn analysis of the effect of process parameters on the height replication of microstructures on lightguiding plates produced by micro-injection moulding (MIM) and micro-injection–compression moulding (MICM) is presented. The plates, of the size employed for LCD displays on digital cameras, feature microstructures with a radius from 100 to 300μm,

Micro powder injection moulding of alumina micro-channel part

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2011
Abstract A feedstock consisting of submicron alumina powder and a formulated binder, was developed to fabricate alumina micro-channel part by micro powder injection moulding. During small scale-mixing, the mixing torques of feedstocks with four different powder loadings were used to establish a suitable powder loading.

Characterisation of micro gears produced by micro powder injection moulding

Powder Technology, 2009
Abstract The paper describes the fabrication of micro gears of diameter and height 1 mm by micro powder injection moulding. 316L stainless steel powder of 2.4 µm ( d 50 ) is mixed with a multi-component wax-based binder system. The feedstock is then injection-moulded into micro gears followed by debinding and sintering.

Micro assembly injection moulding

Microsystem Technologies, 2006
Injection moulding is established as one of the most common manufacturing processes of thermoplastics due to its high degree of automation and the short cycle times. Micro injection moulding is a rapidly growing technology that allows for the efficient production of very complex micro parts in high series.

New plastification concepts for micro injection moulding

Microsystem Technologies, 2002
Until now there are no suitable injection moulding machines available for the production of single micro parts, so injection moulders produce big, but precise sprues to achieve the necessary shot weight. Very often over 90 % of the polymer are wasted and this waste can be an important cost factor.

Micro Injection Moulding Process and Product Characterization

Volume 7: 5th International Conference on Micro- and Nanosystems; 8th International Conference on Design and Design Education; 21st Reliability, Stress Analysis, and Failure Prevention Conference, 2011
Due to its high efficiency for the large scale production of polymeric parts, micro injection moulding is one of the key technologies of the new millennium. Although a lot of researches have been conducted to identify the most effective processing conditions for micro injection moulding, the comprehension of the influence of all parameters on the ...
