New approach for modelling strain induced precipitation of Nb(C,N) in HSLA steels during multipass hot deformation in austenite [PDF]
A new model for strain induced precipitation of Nb(C,N) is developed from the existing model for single pass hot deformation. This new model can be extended to multipass deformation to explain the microstructural evolution during the hot deformation of ...

Phase Transformation Behavior of Continuously Cooled Fe–C–V–(Mo) Alloys
Additions of vanadium and molybdenum microalloying are shown to reshape phase transformations in clean low‐carbon steels. By tracking microstructural shifts during continuous cooling, the work uncovers the correlation between transformation kinetics, ferrite morphology, and hardness.

Electrical properties and microstructure fractal analysis of magnesium-modified aluminium-silicate ceramics [PDF]
The addition of Mg2(NO)3 and some active additives, composed of Al salts, to the mixtures of kaolinite and bentonite can provide clay compositions which, after sintering at high temperatures, produce very porous ceramics with microcrystalline and ...

The experiments and simulations demonstrate that, in general, alternative carbon sources can decrease fossil CO2 without adversely impacting EAF process and product. High plastics and tires ratios cause unsafe conditions and poor slag foaming. Hydrogen in EAF burners decreases CO2 but increases water vapor, which can raise the hydrogen content in ...
