Trans‐resveratrol alleviates inflammation and improves skin barrier function via aryl hydrocarbon receptor pathway in human reconstructed epidermis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
In a cytokine‐challenged human epidermal model, trans‐resveratrol reduces inflammation (IL‐1α) and oxidative stress markers (CYP1A1, CYP1B1), while modulating the expression of barrier‐related genes (LOR, OCLN) and differentiation‐associated CASP14. This supports its role as a multifunctional active for sensitive and compromised skin.

Effects of two surfactants on microbial diversity of a PCE-degrading microbial consortium

Chemosphere, 2020
The effects of two representative surfactants, Rhamnolipids and Tween 80, on the microbial diversity of a PCE-degrading consortium during surfactant-enhanced biodegradation, were explored. The biodegradation efficiency was increased from 47.25% to 73.44%, and 47.25%-66.69%, with the addition of Rhamnolipid at 10 mg/L and Tween 80 at 50 mg/L ...

Aerobic degradation of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol by a microbial consortium - selection and characterization of microbial consortium

Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2002
A microbial consortium that efficiently degrades 2,4,6-TCP (2,4,6-trichlorophenol), as the sole source of carbon and energy under aerobic conditions was selected from municipal activated sludge. Six bacterial strains, designated S(1), S(2), S(3), S(4), S(5) and S(6), were isolated from the selected consortium and five were identified as Sphingomonas ...

Biodegradation of hexachlorobenzene by a constructed microbial consortium

World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2014
A consortium comprised of an engineered Escherichia coli DH5α and a natural pentachlorophenol (PCP) degrader, Sphingobium chlorophenolicum ATCC 39723, was assembled for degradation of hexachlorobenzene (HCB), a persistent organic pollutant. The engineered E.

Biodegradation of Gaseous Benzene with Microbial Consortium in a Biofilter

Environmental Technology, 2002
The objective of this study was to investigate the biodegradation of gaseous benzene in a biofilter inoculated with benzene-oxidizing microorganisms. The biofilter performance was monitored in terms of benzene removal efficiency and carbon dioxide production.

Biodegradation of polyalcohol ethoxylate by a wastewater microbial consortium

Biodegradation, 2007
Polyalcohol ethoxylate (PAE), an anionic surfactant, is the primary component in most laundry and dish wash detergents and is therefore highly loaded in domestic wastewater. Its biodegradation results in the formation of several metabolites and the fate of these metabolites through wastewater treatment plants, graywater recycling processes, and in the ...
