Problems bring along their solutions: characterization of a carbapenem-resistant Citrobacter braakii strain and its lytic phage both isolated from sewage water

open access: yesFrontiers in Bacteriology
IntroductionCitrobacter spp. are facultative anaerobic, Gram-negative bacteria that have been known to cause infections in the urinary tract and bloodstream. These infections can be either nosocomial or community-acquired.

Bifidobacterium Pseudolongum‐Derived Inosine Mitigates Polystyrene Nanoplastics‐Induced Hepatic Injury by Inhibiting the Polarization of M1 Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Probiotic B.p colonization elevated gut‐derived inosine level in the liver, while elevated inosine activated A2AR and subsequently blocked NPs‐induced polarization of M1 macrophages by repressing the miR155/SOCS1/NF‐κB pathway. This reduced the release of inflammatory cytokines and thereby, mitigated NPs‐induced hepatic injury.

The Application of an Effective Microbial Fermentation Product as a Biostimulant in the Bioremediation of Soil Contaminated with Benzo[a]pyrene

open access: yes
The efficiency of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) removal by indigenous microorganisms is often suboptimal, resulting in constraints on its practical application. To enhance the degradation efficiency of benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P) in contaminated soil,

Thermochemical Micro‐Explosion for Prompt Thrombolysis via Proximal Injection of Liquid Alkali Metal

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a micro‐explosive thermochemical thrombolysis (METCT) therapy via injectable liquid alkali metal encapsulated in dimethyl silicone (LAM@oil). METCT enables prompt and safe vascular recanalization within 90 s. Critically, the LAM@oil system demonstrates significantly higher thrombolytic efficacy compared to clinically available thrombolytic ...
