Microbiological Parameters Associated with Hatching Turkeys

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1980
Abstract Air samples were taken from selected locations in three turkey hatcheries in Texas. Total mesophiles and molds were enumerated by drawing samples through a bacterial filtering system. Samples were taken before hatch removal, during hatch removal, and post clean-up.

Impact of PVC microplastics on soil chemical and microbiological parameters

open access: yesEnvironmental Research, 2023
Microplastics (MPs) are emerging pollutants whose occurrence is a global problem in natural ecosystems including soil. Among MPs, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a well-known polymer with remarkable resistance to degradation, and because its recalcitrant nature serious environmental concerns are created during manufacturing and waste disposal.

Chloramine demand estimation using surrogate chemical and microbiological parameters

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Sciences, 2017
A model is developed to enable estimation of chloramine demand in full scale drinking water supplies based on chemical and microbiological factors that affect chloramine decay rate via nonlinear regression analysis method. The model is based on organic character (specific ultraviolet absorbance (SUVA)) of the water samples and a laboratory measure of ...
