An examination of the cutaneous leishmaniasis parasite in the Saladin governorate from the points of view of epidemiology and diagnostics:Immunological, molecular and microbiological analysis

We investigate cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) in a sample of 871 Iraqi individuals received for skin disorders, with suspicion of infection by leishmania, at 12 hospitals and healthcare centers of Saladin Governorate, from October 2020 to September 2021. 800 were confirmed for CL after clinical diagnosis, by culture and microscopic examination.

Severe population bottlenecks and the small size of many remnant habitats may render many bird populations prone to extinction from disease outbreaks. Bottlenecks may increase inbreeding which in turn may result in a low diversity of resistance and an immune system that is impaired or defective.
